General Evolution

New Upcoming Games For Xbox Series X In 2021

The Xbox Series X is still in its fledgling state with a fairly small library of new games for the console, but there are many on the horizon to look out for. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just trying to survive as you beat back the undead horde, the Xbox Series X has some great new games on the way that should fit the bill.

And the only thing standing in your way of enjoying these upcoming games is time. The time it’ll take to wait for the release dates. Now, keeping release dates in mind, it’s not unlikely that games on this list will have their launches delayed. This year has already seen a couple of game delays. And it isn’t unlikely that 2021 could end up a lot like 2020 in regards to games being pushed back.

This post will be updated from time to time to reflect any changes we notice on dates for these upcoming releases. As well as new announcements that may be made for games which aren’t already on the list. The list also won’t be exhaustive and will mostly include the biggest new games coming to the platform. As opposed to every single game. Game titles will be categorized by month and in order of their release within that month. If you’re looking for the best games to play on Xbox Series X, you can check out our list for that here.

January 2021

Hitman 3

The next installment in the remake of the Hitman franchise, Hitman 3, is being released this week. In fact it’s launching on January 20 which is in just two days. So you’ll be able to take on contracts around midnight tomorrow.

Ride 4

Coming in one day after Hitman 3 is Ride 4. This is the fourth main game in the franchise, and is sure to serve up some action if you like racing games with super bikes.

The Dark eye: Chains of Satinav and The Dark Eye: Memoria

Daedalic Entertainment has recently confirmed that both of these fan-favorite point and click adventure games are making the jump from PC to consoles this month. Specifically on January 27. These games were originally released in 2012.

The Medium

If you’re into psychological horror games then this one is for you. It takes advantage the next-gen graphics capabilities, and promises to deliver a great mind bending experience.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection

Control: Ultimate Edition

This is essentially the same as the original version of Control, but with the included The Foundation and AWE expansions. If you already own the Xbox One version of Control: Ultimate Edition, the Xbox Series X version will be a free upgrade when it releases.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood

All out mayhem is what you’re looking at here. You play as a werewolf and you destroy your enemies. Need we say more?

Samurai Shodown

The Samurai Shodown remake in all its glory. Amped up for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake

If you’re an older gamer in your late 20s to mid-30s and beyond, there’s a chance you’ve grown up playing some of the Price of Persia games. Perhaps you’ve even played Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This remade version updates the visuals and reimagines the game for the next-gen console. And it’ll be available March 18.

Yakuza 6: The Song Of life

Balan Wonderworld

Balan Wonderworld is a 3D action platformer from Square Enix, which seems pretty evident based on the visuals of the game. It just has that kind of style you may have come to expect from the more cartoonish side of Square Enix titles. That being said this should be a great game for people of all ages.

It Takes Two

Outrider is a looter shooter style of game that has been closely compared to the likes of Destiny. If you like those types of games, you may enjoy this too. It’s officially landing on April Fool’s Day, which, so long as it doesn’t get pushed back. A demo is also expected to be available on February 25.

Curse Of The Sea Rats

First of all, this game looks amazing thanks the hand-drawn visuals and if looter shooters like Outriders aren’t your thing, then maybe you’d be thrilled to dive into a metroidvania game like Curse Of The Sea Rats. The game takes place on the coast if Ireland in 1777, and features a non-linear questline that you can explore. Letting progress through the game in a way that you see fit.

Hood: Outlaws And Legends

Play as a band of thieves and outlaws against other teams of players, all vying for the same rewards in action-packed PvPvE combat heists.

Back 4 Blood

This is the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. While not technically the same franchise, it’s created by Turtle Rock Studios who created the Left 4 Dead franchise. So it might as well be the next game in the series. It also has the same style of co-operative first-person gameplay.

2021 TBD

These are all new Xbox Series X games that are so far confirmed to be releasing at some point in 2021 but no exact dates have been set yet. Or they had exact dates and were already delayed.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

It’s the Flight Simulator you know and love, but it looks a whole lot better after all this time.

Halo Infinite

Halo is the first-person shooter that really popularized multiplayer first-person shooter games on a massive scale. And it’s still going all these years later. While this was originally intended to be a launch title release for the Xbox Series X, Microsoft made the decision to delay the release to make sure it was up to standards.
