The superior instances will roll in downtown Henderson when the seventh annual Mardi Gras Gumbo Cook dinner-off will get underway at 2 p.m. Feb. 6.
Element of Main Road will be blocked off as sellers and website visitors assemble for the festive function, finish with Mardi Gras masks, costumes, beads and, of system, gumbo.
Henderson Most important Avenue Coordinator Laura Wilkerson stated the function will include gumbo teams, food vehicles, cornhole video games and a zydeco band from Louisiana.
“We will also have a beer back garden where we will provide beer and wine,” she claimed.
Wilkerson said attendance to the Mardi Gras party differs each individual year, based on the weather, but extra that it has grown about the years.

The annual occasion, Wilkerson explained, is the best way for the Henderson Primary Road Advisory Board to showcase downtown.
“It encourages people today to arrive … and appreciate the stunning downtown place,” she stated.
Wilkerson said some of the downtown retailers hold their businesses open during the occasion.
“We have a civic theater downtown, but they’re not open up carrying out plays appropriate now due to COVID,” she said.
Judging for the gumbo cook dinner-off commences at 3 p.m.
