The 53-year-old TV presenter had admitted she used to follow an exercise routine to look “hot in a bikini” but as she has gotten older Davina has maintained her workouts to help prolong her life.
She told Women’s Health UK: “Previously, my ‘keeping fit and healthy’ was all about my body and making myself look hot in a bikini …and actually now it’s just about staying alive longer and being in the best possible position to beat anything should it come my way.”
Davina has kept up with her fitness regime throughout the coronavirus lockdown.

Let’s get physical!
Fitness is always one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions, but many seem to head straight for the Christmas left overs instead of healthier options. However, these celebrities were able to stick to their resolutions and lost a staggering amount of weight this past year. Here are 10 stars who reached their weight loss goals of 2020…
Rebel Wilson
The ‘Isn’t This Romantic’ star announced she had lost 40 pounds in November after her “year of health”. She said: “For the last few years, I’ve been theme-ing my years. So I had the ‘Year of Fun,’ last year I had the ‘Year of Love,’ and this year it’s gonna be the ‘Year of Health’ because I turned 40 this year in March.” Rebel dropped the weight using a “holistic approach” which saw her focus on mental health and tackling emotional eating head-on.
Busta Rhymes
The rapper has reportedly lost over 100 pounds with help from Weight Watchers and personal trainers. He shared his mega weight loss on Instagram by uploading a before and after pic showcasing his new abs. He wrote: “LIFE BEGINS RIGHT NOW!!! MY DEDICATION IS DIFFERENT!! I WOULD NEVER PUT OUT AN ALBUM AND NOT BE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!! I RESPECT MYSELF TOO MUCH AND I RESPECT Y’ALL TOO MUCH!!! I’M ONLY HERE TO INSPIRE!!”
Tiffany Haddish
The ‘Girls Trip’ star took on the challenge to lose 40 pounds this year. She decided to focus on her health during the pandemic by eating well and working out. Tiffany said: “I lost 40 pounds. I’ve been working out and eating right and getting my little life together. I’m not gonna lie to you, my knees were hurting a lot in 2019. I was carrying a lot of things around, a lot of weight, unnecessary weight, unnecessary hurt. I had to let all that go — a lot of mental things — let that go.”
Kelly Osbourne
The ‘Fashion Police’ star stunned the world when she was spotted looking as slim as ever. She later revealed she had dropped 85 pounds after she had undergone gastric sleeve surgery. Kelly said: “All [the surgery] is is a push in the right direction. It doesn’t solve all your problems… It’s not a quick fix.”
Adele
The ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker dropped 100 pounds by following a strict vegetarian diet and going on daily runs. She first revealed her dramatic weight loss in Christmas 2019 by sharing photos of her Christmas party. Adele later stunned the world when she uploaded another snap of her slim figure on her birthday.
Simon Cowell
The music mogul revealed he was on a strict vegan diet as part of a lifestyle overhaul. He recently announced he had lost 60 pounds. Simon said: “I think I have dropped, since I started this diet a year ago, 60 pounds. I’m exercising. Funny enough, more during this time as well, sticking to the diet.”
Jessica Simpson
The singer and actress vowed to lose weight after welcoming her third child in 2019. A year later, she revealed that she had dropped 100 pounds with high-intensity workouts. She said: “It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever.”
Hilary Duff
The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ star dropped 11 pounds by counting her macros over the coronavirus pandemic. She showed off her slim figure with a bikini snap on Instagram. Duff praised the diet, saying: “With the macros it’s cool because I haven’t had to cut anything out that I love. It’s just about making sure my body is getting the right amount of protein and fat and carbohydrates—and then I get to choose what those are.”
Lizzo
The ‘Juice’ hitmaker has been working hard to reach her ideal body type by practising a vegan diet. She has also focused on her fitness with a workout routine that consists of weights, indoor cycling and skipping. Lizzo said: “Hey, so I’ve been working out consistently for the last five years, and it may come as a surprise to some of y’all that I’m not working out to have your ideal body type. I’m working out to have my ideal body type.”
Chris Hemsworth
The Marvel star has been hitting the gym hard ahead of the next ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie. His co-star, Chris Pratt, has also been working out but asked the Australian hunk to take it easy. He quipped: “Just heard from my trainer and he needs you to stop working out because since we’re gonna be in the same movie and everything, he doesn’t want me to stand next to you if you look like that so I’m gonna need you to put on 25 lbs real quick cool thanks.”
11/11 SLIDES
She added: “A lot has been said about health and fitness for your mental health this year, and we all know that it really makes an enormous difference.
“The other night I exercised at 9.30 at night … I’m just trying to squeeze in a workout on my fitness platform, Own Your Goals, between cleaning the house, doing a ton of laundry, cooking and everything else.”
What’s more, ‘The Masked Singer’ judge is looking to “let loose” in 2021.
She explained: “My 2021 goal is just to really try and enjoy and let myself go and let loose when we can because when you have your liberty taken from you, it makes you realise how little you make of your liberty when you have it.
“I want to go out, I want to meet up with friends, I want to have tons of dinner parties, I want to cook food, I want to have loads of people in my house, I want to have parties, I want to go out clubbing, I want to listen to music, I want to go to festivals. I want to do it all, because I never took advantage of all those things when they were right there and now they’ve gone!”
Davina McCall will host a free home workout as part of the Women’s Health Weekenders on the Women’s Health UK YouTube channel at 9am on Saturday 9th January.
